The Bratislava-Berlin-based studio was founded nearly a decade ago by Vlasta Kubušová and Miroslav Král.
Vlasta’s foundation in industrial design is rooted in a commitment to functionality and sustainability. She was awarded the Fulbright Scholarship for 2021/2022, during which she explored interactive biomaterials at the University of Pennsylvania. She is advancing her research on responsive biomaterials as part of her ArtD studies at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava. Recently, Vlasta received the MIT-SLOVAKIA MISTI Global Seed Funding for her project Senseable Matter, and is researching on interactive biomaterials for design and architecture. This project is a collaboration with Dr. Andreas Mershin at the Center for Bits and Atoms, MIT Media Lab, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Miroslav brings a rich background in stage design for theatre and film, with a focus on shaping spaces, crafting compelling narratives, and channeling creativity. Miroslav’s expertise and experience allow him to think beyond the physical form, integrating storytelling into spatial design to evoke profound emotional responses.
Together, Vlasta and Miroslav unite their disciplines to form a truly interdisciplinary approach to design. Their shared values center on pushing the boundaries of materials, blending science and creativity, and integrating circular design principles into their work. By bringing their distinct perspectives to the table, they achieve designs that are innovative, aesthetically appealing, functional, and environmentally responsible.
